Explore Caño Cristales
We will take a flight leaving the Andes by the Cordillera Oriental towards the plains, crossing the department of the Meta to arrive to La Macarena, the home of Caño Cristales. Your captains will be able to explain each phase of the flight, places of interest and teach you that flying is also an adventure!
The Macarena is characterized by the warmth of its guides, characters from the region that with the nobility and the true peasant affection will lead them to discover the most beautiful river in the world! Natural purity full of color and magical realism. No matter how much you travel, Caño Cristales surprises the most experienced traveler.
Day 1
-We flight in a Charter from the airport Guaymaral to the Macarena, Meta.
-If the weather is favorable, we will have a beautiful view from the plane, we can see how the Cordillera ends and receive the immense Oriental plains.
-After the landing our team will be waiting for us to attend the talk with the environmental authorities of Cormacarena and national parks.
-Once ready, we will take a boat and go up the river Guayabero, where we can observe a variety of bird species, and turtles sunbathing on the trunks that stand out in the Guayabero River.
-We arrived at Lozada, a landscape with all the enchantment of the plain, powerful rocks that lead us and offer a great view!
-We can observe birds, fishes and if we are lucky pink dolphins.
-At the end of the day we return to the Macarena to rest and prepare for a cultural sample that with love and passion for their culture, the children and great artists of the town perform.
-This night you will know what the mamona is, the typical dish of the region.
Day 2
-Departure from the hotel to have a buffet breakfast in the village and prepare for the tour Caño Cristales Selva.
-We will take a boat that takes us across the Guayabero river (20 minutes).
-We will walk to get on the 4 × 4 cars that will leave us at the allowed point to start our 30 minutes hike to get to Caño cristales.
-You must be prepare for the encounter with purity, peace and the most capricious shapes and colors with all the magic that its nature encloses; rapids, waterfalls and wells adorned with capricious seaweeds of colors that make Caño cristales the most beautiful river in the World.
-Return to the Macarena and to the airport
-Make sure you bring comfortable clothes to walk and that protect you from the sun, you will also need a bathing suit and clothes that can get wet
-Sun protection (not allowed in Caño Cristales y Cristalitos)
-Caps and hats are a good idea for the sun
-Water bottle is important to keep you hydrated
-Raincoat for possible rains
-You can’t miss your Binoculars
-Don't forget your sunglasses
-You must bring shoes with grip and that can get wet
-You will be among the plains, you will need repellent
